VocaGateway is optional infrastructure for shared or larger compute. It is self-hosted, not a Voca cloud. Pair it with a QR code, run it on a trusted machine, and keep the network boundary explicit.

Your client sends audio to the gateway you configured. It runs a local engine and returns the transcript.

In on-device mode, yes: after the model download, processing remains on the phone or computer. If you choose gateway mode, configured audio travels to your self-hosted VocaGateway instead.
No. The gateway is optional. Use it when you want shared hardware, larger models, or one self-hosted service for multiple clients.
Choose VocaLinux for Linux, VocaMac for an Apple Silicon Mac, VocaPhone for Android or iPhone via TestFlight, and VocaWin on Windows if you want to try the unsigned beta.
The desktop apps are designed for system-wide text insertion, and the phone apps work through their keyboard or containing app flows. Secure fields, permissions, and platform rules can limit insertion.
Yes, the Voca projects are free and open source. Licenses are named per project in the repository and in the product directory above.
VocaLinux has a current release, VocaMac has a beta release path, and VocaPhone has public Android beta releases plus a public iOS TestFlight beta capped at 1,000 seats, with a source-build path beyond that. VocaWin has an unsigned beta, not a signed shipping build. VocaGateway is beta self-hosted infrastructure.
